Impromptu No. 1 in A-flat major Op.29, Frédéric Chopin For my first example I chose Chopin's Impromptu No. 1 in A-flat major Op.29, the reason I chose this piece was because it directly relates to what we have learned in our model this week and it is also a part of the western music era. In this module we learned about virtuosity, what it means and the composers in the western music era that were considered a "virtuoso". Virtuosity means to be the best at what you do, and for Chopin he was considered the most renowned piano player of the 19th century. He was a part of the romantic era that was embedded in the Western music era. The meaning behind this piece to me is I have always loved music and specifically the piano, my mom is in an orchestra band and I always loved the music she played and showed me.
